A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected assault in North York overnight.
An off-duty Toronto police officer spotted the man collapsed outside a residential building on Keele Street, near Flamborough Drive, at around 3:45 a.m.
The man, believed to be in his early 20s, appeared to have head wounds and stab wounds to his hand and was also suffering from exposure to the cold.
He was taken to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Toronto Paramedic Services said.
A trail of blood could be seen on the sidewalk near the spot where the man was found and blood could also be seen on a nearby hydro pole.
Police followed the trail, but it’s not yet clear exactly where the assault occurred or when.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Toronto police.
