Man in life-threatening condition after hit-and-run in Brampton


Peel Regional Police are trying to track down a vehicle that hit a man while he was crossing the street in Brampton Sunday morning and fled the scene.

The man has been rushed to a Toronto trauma centre by Peel Region Paramedics in life-threatening condition after he was struck just after 4:30 a.m. on West Drive near Clark Boulevard in Brampton.

Const. Sarah Patten said the driver fled the scene and police have yet to get a good vehicle description.

Witnesses and other residents took to social media to express their disgust with what transpired.

“Can’t believe he was just left there to die,” said Peter Vasiliev, who said the man was found unconscious and bleeding on the road.

Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the incident are asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121 ext. 3710.

The pedestrian was transported to a Toronto Trauma Center and is currently in life threatening condition.

The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. No descriptors at this time.

Major Collision Bureau currently investigating.
